Pet slider turtle
One of the most common turtle species among pets is the slider turtle, commonly known as red-eared turtle. Every year millions of babies are born but take care to last more than a month is not easy. Today with new knowledge and with the help of technology is easier to maintain, but for that you need to have basic knowledge about their care.
Typically, these turtles are indoor pets in an aquarium. One of the first things to keep in mind is the water level. It is important that they are small there is less water than when they have grown, and make sure you always have somewhere in the tank a sort of mound (plastic, stone, etc..) So they can always have a dry place. Do not forget that as the animal grows, the aquarium should also be larger.
One thing you must watch is water quality. Many of the problems that arise with these animals are derived from water, so you can avoid them simply by purchasing a filter system. And do not forget they will need light and heat so you must also put in a corner of the aquarium a small lamp to provide a temperature of about 32 degrees. It is also desirable to have another lamp that provides them with UVB light.
Finally, remember not to give more food than you need. Ideally, have two or three times a week. You give spinach, carrots, water lettuce or even insects and worms. It’s best to buy preparations sold as they are mostly pretty good.
